When a business decides to consider our services, they will ask us to provide a proposal. Sometimes the prospect points out how much less an online service costs than Brigade. It’s discouraging to me because it’s an “apples to oranges” comparison.
If you keep up with my blog, you know I often discuss budget management, expenses, and staying as lean as possible. But I also address the lessons of cost vs. value.
In a prior blog, I talked about why some purchases are worth the higher cost when you take into consideration the long-term value. I used the example of being comfortable with paying more for your next car after owning your first “affordable” (cheap) one.
I also suggested that when choosing professional services like accounting and bookkeeping, “If mistakes are made, you’re provided with routine services that don’t result in cost savings, and your work together feels more transactional and less relationship-oriented, is it all that affordable?’”
Our Value Proposition
Brigade Bookkeeping delivers on our commitment to clients. You are our vested partners. If you succeed, we succeed. Your success comes from more than managing the books. Businesses go through cycles where there are opportunities for growth, reasons to upgrade your technologies, streamline processes, and improve customer transactions. We are there to help you address these issues and improve your chances of success.
Here are a few examples:
- We assist an optometrist who is also a serial entrepreneur. He came to us years ago, through a CPA referral strategic partner. His bookkeeper at the time wasn’t “doing their job” and meeting expectations. This client is now opening up numerous new entitles. Brigade Bookkeeping is proactively setting up each one. The client’s company books are now always set up correctly from the start.
- A non-profit client we support is open to listening and implementing our suggestions. We migrated one of their desktop accounting software systems to a cloud-based platform. Now, all of the organization’s users have access to real-time data. We’ve been able to come in, take a focused look at their pain points, and find ways to make their work easier.
- An attorney we work with was frustrated with his previous bookkeeper’s process. Brigade Bookkeeping set up a series of brainstorming video sessions that helped to improve his billing. Now, more money comes in, and it happens a lot quicker than before.
If you’re undecided about using an online financial management system or a professional services firm like ours, I ask you to consider the “costs” of a purely transactional setup. Since your business’s financial health is everything, why not consider using a firm that recognizes the worth of a valuable partnership? Email me to talk more about it.
