Below is a map with all of the places we have financial advisors to serve clients locally and regionally. What’s missing?
Well, the big, glaring omission here to me is Texas. It’s the second most populous state behind California with over 29 million people. There are more than 500,000 households in Texas with over $1 million in investable net worth, representing almost 6% of the state’s total households. We have plenty of clients there and do a great job working with them, but having a local presence in either Austin, Dallas / Fort Worth or Houston is long overdue for us, given the amount of readers and fans of ours in those metro areas. We’re fortunate to have begun our foray into this region, having hired Nick Sapienza in Lafayette, Louisiana and Blair duQuesnay in New Orleans in the last few years. Nick and Blair are doing great – we want to build on that success as we move west.
Typically, our hiring process is agnostic about where an advisor is located. We’ve always looked for quality advisors; their geographic location has been a secondary consideration. But this is a special situation. According to US News, there are approximately 24,000 financial advisors in the state. I have to believe that there are hundreds of quality candidates who would be a great fit for our culture and worthy of the opportunity.
If you’re a Texas-based financial advisor and think you have what it takes to be a part of our adventure, this is your chance!
