Rebecca Longnaker, treasurer of Chesterfield County, is pleased to announce that Carol Bennett, special projects manager, and chief deputy officers Sherry Swanson and Tim McPeters have all received the Master Government Deputy Treasurer designation from the Treasurer’s Association of Virginia. The TAV is a professional organization whose mission is to “enhance the professionalism and fiscal leadership among treasurers and their staff through education, networking, and performance standards” in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The MGDT designation is helping to ensure that the Chesterfield County Treasurer’s Office continues to deliver world-class customer service to the constituents of Chesterfield County.
Brad Lester, a senior audit associate at Brown Edwards, has been selected to receive the 2021 Virginia Society of CPAs Top 5 Under 35 Award. This award recognizes young members of VSCPA who have shown excellence in chapter accomplishment, professional achievement, community contributions and dedication to the CPA profession.
Allison Mason has joined the Chesterfield Observer as an advertising account executive. Mason, most recently marketing manager for Phantastic Poe’s Elixirs and High End Supply Sneakers, is an advertising and marketing specialist and a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, where she studied mass communications and strategic advertising.
