Running a business is never easy. And running a business during a deadly global pandemic is even more difficult. The numbers often just don’t add up.
That’s where the professionals listed in these pages come in, along with the academics and advocates who help the accounting profession. Business owners and executives fortunate enough – and smart enough – to work with the CPAs recognized here are getting top-flight advice and service. And with the COVID-19 outbreak apparently fading, the work will become even more important.
Most experts and observers expect the state’s economy to stage a robust recovery as long as the public health situation continues to improve. But many businesses were severely damaged by the operational limits imposed to control the spread of the virus. They will need help – not just financial, but also guidance on how to get back to normal. Accountants will fill that critical role.
Even businesses that made it through the pandemic relatively unscathed will need assistance. The state’s economy as a whole is still on the mend and workplace norms have been upended. The “old way” of doing business may no longer be the best way. Figuring out what the best way is will require careful planning and putting it into place will require skilled implementation. Again, CPAs are going to be called upon to help work out the new normal.
The folks NJBIZ honors here are certainly up to those tasks. They’ve demonstrated time and again the sort of forward thinking and professionalism that businesses need to operate at a high level – to make the numbers add up.
We always welcome feedback and we’d like to hear what you think of the choices we made and the rationale behind them. As always, the top ten honorees are listed in numerical order; the remainder are listed alphabetically.
