Pizza chain Domino’s has partnered with packaged consumer goods maker ITC Foods to deliver groceries through a service called ‘Domino’s Essentials’, it said on Thursday, amidst the 21-day countrywide lockdown.
A statement by Jubilant FoodWorks (JFL), which operates Domino’s Pizza, said the service will be rolled out in Bengaluru, Noida, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Hyderabad. Users can download the Domino’s delivery app to use digital payments to complete the order.
The statement said the delivery infrastructure of Domino’s will be leveraged under this partnership through which consumers can order ITC Foods brands such as Aashirvaad atta and spices. Domino’s said its delivery executives will follow zero contact delivery to fulfill the order.
“We will use the Domino’s supply chain and delivery network to deliver the essential goods,” Pratik Pota, chief executive at JFL said.
The National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) had announced last week that it is encouraging employees of restaurants to take up temporary employment with online grocer Bigbasket, as India battles the deadly Covid-19.
