Amazon India said this festive season, more than a third of the participating businesses are first time online sellers. Expectations of these businesses from the upcoming sale period include reaching out to new customers, increase in visibility of products, recovery of the business post the lockdown, and selling old inventory.
“Between pre-Covid and post-Covid we are seeing about a 60-80% uptick in sellers wanting to register online since the traffic from their own region has significantly reduced,” Manish Tiwary, Vice president, Amazon told ET. Moreover, close to 27% of the seller base is preparing to launch new products this festive season, a survey report from Amazon exclusively shared with ET indicated.
